We want to make recycling a habit in homes, offices, schools, and communities. By making segregation and disposal easier and by rewarding proper recycling, we hope to encourage more people to take part. Small actions from individuals build a stronger community and support a cleaner and healthier future.
Smart Recycle PH started on September 18, 2021. Built on 20 years of experience in the recycling industry, we created this platform to make recycling more accessible and organized. From its beginning in Metro Cebu, Smart Recycle PH now supports more major cities across the country.
In 2022, Smart Recycle PH received a special award from Tetra Pak during the Reimagine Recycling Year 4 event organized by The Coca Cola Foundation and Save Philippine Seas. This recognition strengthened our efforts to improve our system and train more partners.
By May 2023, Smart Recycle PH was able to divert 532 tons of recyclables through the efforts of 32 corporate partners. This also helped fulfill our target to plant 1,000 trees with RAFI One To Tree.
In July 2023, we launched the Smart Recycle PH app to make it easier for people to track their points and convert recyclables into trees.
Smart Recycle PH is led by three women who believe that change can start with everyday actions. Our team works together with local shops, corporate partners, NGOs, collection partners, and ordinary citizens. We believe that when people and organizations take small actions together, the impact becomes bigger, more visible, and more meaningful.
We continue to grow our network by working closely with advocates, partners, and communities who share our vision for a more sustainable future for the Philippines.
